LEXPERT'S FOUNDER

Susan Wittenberg Liebeler

Lexpert's president, Susan Wittenberg Liebeler, brings a wide realm of legal experience to Lexpert. Before founding Lexpert she was a partner in the law firm of Irell & Manella and the managing partner of the firm's Washington D.C. office. Previously she served as Chair of the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC). At the ITC she heard and presided over cases with testimony from hundreds of experts concerning a wide range of products and industries in unfair competition and international trade cases involving infringement of intellectual property and antidumping and countervailing duty proceedings.  She has testified before various Congressional committees on a variety of issues relating to international trade, the ITC and foreign investment.

Prior to her ITC appointment, Ms. Liebeler was a professor of law at Loyola Law School in Los Angeles, teaching courses in corporations, securities regulation and financial institutions. Prior to teaching, she specialized in corporate securities law in Los Angeles in private practice and as general counsel to a public company.

Ms. Liebeler is admitted to practice in California and a past Chair and member of the International Law Section of the State Bar of California. She also served as Chair of the Board of Governors of Century City Hospital and has served as a member of the Academic Advisory Board of the University of California Orientation in USA Law, the Administrative Conference of the United States, the Practicing Law Institute California Advisory Committee, the Regulation Magazine Editorial Advisory Board and the Washington Legal Foundation Academic Advisory Board.

After receiving her law degree from UCLA School of Law, where she was senior editor of the Law Review and a member of Order of the Coif, Ms. Liebeler served as a law clerk to the Hon. Gordon L. Files of the California Court of Appeal. She received her bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan.
